Reimagine Research Culture Festival
Our free online festival in March 2021 will bring together the research community to take action and help reimagine research.
It’s time to build a better research culture – one that is creative, inclusive and honest. Our free online festival from 22 to 26 March 2021 will bring together the research community to take action and help reimagine research.
Sign up to our live online sessions with leading researchers to discuss how to build a positive research culture. Learn about new approaches and hear what's already working.
Register for first access to articles and pre-recorded discussions.
During the festival, you will:
- find out what we've heard about research culture from across the research community
- hear from those already leading the way in improving research culture
- learn how other sectors have made major cultural shifts
- explore the practical steps needed to achieve a better research culture, and what Wellcome and others' first steps are towards this.
Share your experiences during the festival using the hashtag #ReimagineResearch.
To make sure the festival is a positive experience for everyone, we’ve put together a simple code of conduct. Please read this in advance – by attending, you agree to follow this code.
The festival will explore concepts relating to equality, diversity and inclusion in research. This may include discussions about age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage, civil partnership, pregnancy, maternity, race, religion, belief, sex, sexual orientation or any other aspect of diversity not included as a protected characteristic by the Equality Act 2010.
With this in mind, it is important to respect the experience of others and remember that there are oppressions that disadvantage some of us and benefit others. We will not tolerate harassment of festival participants in any form, including on social media or by email.
Anyone who violates the code may be sanctioned or removed from the festival by Wellcome staff.
We ask that you:
- Act fairly, honestly, and in good faith with other participants.
- Remember that English may not be everyone’s first language, so be mindful of the advantage you hold if it is yours.
- Use appropriate language in the event chat and Q&A functions at all times.
- Refrain from sharing any personal information or inappropriate content in the event chat or Q&A; these posts can be seen by all festival participants, and inappropriate posts will be removed by Wellcome staff.
If you are being harassed, if you notice that someone else is being harassed, or if you have any other concerns, contact a member of Wellcome staff immediately. Wellcome staff will have ‘Wellcome’ included in their names on BlueJeans; if you click on their name, you will have the option to send them a message. Or you can email culture@wellcome.org and a staff member will get back to you as soon as possible.
All events will have live speech to text captions.
All live events are being recorded. Recordings will be circulated during and after the festival to watch in your own time.
If you have any accessibility requirements, contact the festival team at culture@wellcome.org and we’ll do our best to help.
