Mindscapes is an international cultural programme that aims to support a transformation in how we understand, address and talk about mental health.
Mindscapes is an international cultural programme that aims to support a transformation in how we understand, address and talk about mental health.
Combining diverse perspectives and expertise, the programme – including artist residencies, a film, exhibitions and events – will be staged across Bengaluru, Berlin, New York and Tokyo. Our work has already begun and will culminate in the spring and summer of 2022.
Mindscapes brings together culture, policy and research across a range of disciplines. It is informed and inspired by Wellcome's mental health programme.
Pulitzer Prize-winner Ellen Reid has composed SOUNDWALK, a GPS-enabled work of public art that uses music to illuminate the environment and encourage calm reflection.

Young people share how they've managed their mental health during and after Covid-19 lockdowns, in different and creative ways.

Catch up with the talks, which explore the role of the arts in giving new perspectives on, and improving, mental health, social justice and global health.

One in four people experience a mental health problem every year but, for many years, treatments have hardly progressed. A holistic scientific, social and cultural approach is needed, now more than ever.
Through a range of cultural activities, Mindscapes will provide new perspectives on how people live with and seek solutions to mental health problems in different contexts.
