Its remit covers applications that aim to develop tools and technologies (physical or data), that have the potential to benefit health related discovery research to improve our understanding of health and disease. Proposals can be stand-alone and do not need to address their own specific biological question.
Examples include:
- machine learning and artificial intelligence methods
- statistical, and informatics techniques
- novel data collection methods and analytical techniques
- novel technologies and tools or substantially enhancing/improving existing technologies or tools (excludes maintenance of existing resources, where this is the primary purpose).
