Beth joined Wellcome in 2009. She became interim Director of Strategy in 2022, responsible for the work of the strategy and programme office, government relations and strategic partnerships, policy, and transition and legacy teams.

In her previous role as Head of Policy & Advocacy, UK & EU she led Wellcome’s work on research culture and Brexit.

Prior to joining Wellcome Beth worked as a policy trainee at the Royal Society of Chemistry. 

Beth has a BA/MSci in Natural Sciences (Biochemistry) from the University of Cambridge and a PhD from the MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology.
